Young performers wanted to join Mother Goose at The Kenton
The Kenton Theatre is searching for 24 young local performers to take to the stage alongside a professional cast in Mother Goose – A Cracking Family Musical next Easter.
Auditions are now open for the Junior Company of Dantastic Productions’ Mother Goose, which comes to The Kenton from Wed 7 – Sun 11 Apr 2027.
In a first for Dantastic at The Kenton, the Easter musical will bring together a professional cast and local young performers, giving children and teenagers aged 8-15 the opportunity to experience being part of a large-scale professional production at one of the country’s oldest working theatres.
24 places available
Dantastic Productions is looking for 24 confident young dancers and performers, who will be divided into two teams of 12 for the production.
The company is looking for young people with plenty of personality, energy, enthusiasm and creativity, as well as a genuine love of performing.
And there’s no need to arrive with a polished audition piece prepared.
During the audition, participants will be taught a short dance routine before taking part in a fun acting workshop. There will also be an optional singing audition for anyone who would like to demonstrate their vocal ability.
Auditions at The Kenton Theatre
Auditions will take place at The Kenton in November:
Ages 8–11
Tue 10 Nov, 4.30–6.30pm
Ages 12–15
Wed 11 Nov, 4.30–6.30pm
Successful performers will join rehearsals ahead of the production before appearing on the Kenton stage during the Easter run.
Full details of the audition process, rehearsal commitments and registration are available on the Dantastic Productions website.

Joining a familiar cast
The Junior Company will perform alongside a professional cast featuring some familiar Kenton faces.
Dan Whitley returns as Silly Billy, alongside Brian Elrick as Mother Goose and Lara Sas as Demon Vanity, reuniting Henley’s popular panto trio.
They will be joined by Holly Atterton from Nick Jr’s GO!GO!GO! as Fairy Sparkles and Ella Bishop as Princess Jill.
And, of course, there is Priscilla the Goose, who has already been causing a little mischief around Henley ahead of her Kenton debut.
Mother Goose – A Cracking Family Musical promises a spectacular Easter production filled with comedy, music, high-energy choreography, colourful costumes, scenery and plenty of audience participation.
For 24 young local performers, it will also be the chance to experience all the excitement of being part of the company and performing on the Kenton stage.
