Mike Hurst and Friends

Mike Hurst’s final farewell

After a remarkable 64-year career in music, Mike Hurst takes to the stage for the final time at the Kenton Theatre, joined by an extraordinary line-up of friends and fellow musicians for one very special weekend.

Mike celebrates his 84th birthday as he brings the curtain down on his performing career with the music, stories, comedy and good old rock ’n’ roll that have made his previous Kenton shows such memorable occasions.

And he won’t be saying goodbye alone.

Saturday 19 September will see Mike joined by Seth Lakeman, the Mercury Prize-nominated folk singer, songwriter and musician whose career has included extensive touring with Robert Plant and collaborations with Van Morrison, and Andy Fairweather Low, former Amen Corner frontman and one of Britain’s most respected guitarists and singers. Andy’s extraordinary career has seen him work with artists including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Roger Waters and David Gilmour.

On Sunday 20 September, Mike will be joined by legendary British rock and soul singer Chris Farlowe, best known for his 1966 UK No. 1 hit Out of Time.

This really is the final chapter of an extraordinary performing career and a chance to celebrate Mike, his music and the friendships forged across more than six decades in the industry.

The weekend will also continue to raise awareness of Parkinson’s, a cause that has become an important part of Mike’s story.

Come and help us give Mike Hurst the send-off he deserves.
