Henley Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society presents; Footloose

When streetwise teenager Ren McCormack is forced to move from Chicago to the small rural town of Bomont, he is shocked to discover the town is under the strict thumb of Reverend Shaw Moore, who has implemented a total ban on dancing following the loss of his son in a tragic accident five years earlier.

Feeling like an outsider, Ren finds unlikely allies in the Reverend’s rebellious daughter, Ariel and her friends, along with a shy local boy named Willard, whom Ren teaches to dance.

Determined to bring music back to the town, Ren petitions the town council to allow a senior prom, resulting in further conflict between the young people and the adults of the town.

Featuring a fantastic cast, this iconic, upbeat, lively and fun production fully embodies the spirit of the original movie with such memorable hits as ‘Holding Out for a Hero’, ‘Let’s Hear It For the Boy’ and, of course the eponymous, ‘Footloose’.
