Performances

One of the lovely things about Kenton Carols is that every school brings something different to the stage.

Each school can choose up to three pieces to perform. We ask that one is a traditional Christmas carol, but for the remaining numbers it is entirely up to you what you would like to bring to The Kenton.

These could be songs from your school’s nativity play or production, a Christmas reading, instrumental or vocal pieces, or group or solo performances. All numbers can be staged and choreographed however you would like.

Choosing your pieces

Please submit your performance choices no later than Friday 13 November.

If two schools performing on the same evening choose the same piece, priority will be given to the school that submitted its choice first.

Backing tracks and live accompaniment

Schools wishing to perform to an instrumental backing track should provide these in MP3 or WAV format only.

All backing tracks must be received by Friday 27 November.

The theatre also has an electric piano available for live accompaniment if required.

Group numbers

At the end of each evening, all the choirs will come together on stage to perform two specially selected group numbers.

The songs are arranged by Steph Maxwell of Divas & Dudes Dance School in Henley, who will aim to visit schools individually ahead of the event to teach the simple choreography and run through the chosen songs.

The group performances are always a wonderful way to finish the evening, bringing all the participating schools together on The Kenton stage for one big festive finale.
