Dick Whittington comes to The Kenton this Christmas

Henley’s biggest Christmas adventure starts here.

The Kenton Theatre is preparing for a huge festive adventure this Christmas as Dick Whittington comes to Henley from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 29 December.

Award winning Immersion Theatre will return to The Kenton with a joyful, fast paced family pantomime packed with big laughs, brilliant songs, larger than life characters and all the traditional Christmas fun audiences have come to love.

The adventure follows young Dick as he sets off for London in search of fame, fortune and a future paved with gold.

Along the way, he meets a colourful cast of characters including Alice Fitzwarren, Cecily Sweetlove and Timmy the cat.

But trouble is brewing beneath the bright lights of London.

Deep in the city sewers, the villainous King Rat and his rodent army are plotting to take over. Dick, Timmy and their friends must find the courage to stop him and save the day.

Audiences can expect comedy, music, magic, audience participation, spectacular sets, sweets, water guns and plenty of festive sparkle.

A hero, a cat and one very wicked rat.

For many families, panto at The Kenton has become part of the Christmas tradition, bringing generations together for an afternoon or evening of festive entertainment in the heart of Henley.

This year, selected performances will also offer children the chance to meet members of the Dick Whittington cast after the show and have a photograph taken on stage in front of the set.

Meet and Greet tickets cost £2 extra per child and are available after selected performances on Friday 11 December, Friday 18 December, Tuesday 22 December and Sunday 27 December.

The Kenton will also offer a relaxed and signed performance on Monday 14 December at 6pm for audiences who may benefit from a calmer theatre environment. An additional signed performance will take place on Tuesday 22 December at 2.30pm.

School groups will also have the opportunity to experience the magic of panto, with seven performances set aside specifically for school visits. Further information and booking details are available from the Box Office.
