Variety, prizes, professional appraisal – Henley Drama Festival returns with an outstanding programme for 2024.
No fewer than four all-women casts: ‘You and Me’, ‘Stratford Boy’ and ‘And Go to Innisfree’ – are joined by John Godber’s hilarious and now classic modern comedy ‘Shakers’. There are at least two ‘world premiers’ of original pieces by local writers. Plus the chance to savour two classics of world drama: Georg Buchner’s dazzling and rarely-staged expressionist drama ‘Woyzeck’ and Anton Chekov’s timeless ‘Marriage Proposal’ So: two different plays per evening plus professional criticism – value for money indeed! – at England’s fourth oldest working theatre. See you here!
