Dance takes centre stage at The Kenton this autumn

From icy fairytale kingdoms to Christmas magic, dance is taking centre stage at The Kenton Theatre this autumn, with a season of beautiful productions for audiences of all ages.

First up is Ballet Theatre UK’s The Snow Queen on Sun 25 Oct, bringing Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story to life through spectacular choreography, costumes and storytelling.

The company returns to Henley following its warmly received production of A Christmas Carol at The Kenton last year.

For younger audiences, Red Robin’s Winter Song arrives on Thu 29 Oct, offering something a little different. Presented by tutti frutti, the production blends storytelling, music and movement in a warm and imaginative show with a distinctive South Indian influence.

Then, as Christmas approaches, family favourite The Nutcracker returns on Sun 29 Nov – and demand has already been so strong that The Kenton has added an extra performance.

The award-winning Let’s All Dance Ballet Company will now perform at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, giving even more families the chance to enjoy Clara, the Nutcracker Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Designed especially with younger audiences in mind, the production runs at around an hour and offers a magical first introduction to live ballet.

The theatre is also already looking ahead to spring, when The Little Mermaid – The Ballet arrives on Sun 4 Apr 2027, bringing another much-loved fairytale to life through dance.

The Kenton’s Artistic Programme Manager Ron McAllister said the programme offers audiences very different ways to experience dance.

“From full-length classical ballet to productions created especially for younger children, we want audiences to be able to discover dance in a way that feels right for them.

“These are all very different productions, but each one combines wonderful storytelling with the magic of live performance.”

With The Nutcracker already proving popular, audiences are encouraged to book early.
