Trustees

Our Board of Trustees plays a vital role in guiding The Kenton’s strategic direction and purpose. Working closely with the theatre’s leadership, Trustees help to oversee the implementation of business plans aiming to achieve long-term financial stability, growth and sustainability.

Julie Deadman

Julie is a seasoned HR professional and active practitioner, currently running her own consultancy. Alongside her expertise in human resources, she has a strong personal interest in the arts and is a regular attendee at The Kenton.

Dennis Oliver

Dennis worked for a US multinational holding board positions in engineering, finance and general management. He is passionate about keeping local communities strong and ensuring amenities are on a sound financial footing to thrive into the future. Dennis was co-opted onto the board in August 2023.

Rachael O’Sullivan

Rachael is a specialist in environmental sustainability, with a focus on embedding sustainable practices into the operations of major cultural institutions. She is the Environmental Manager at the Royal Opera House, an early adopter and contributor to the Theatre Green Book and has previously offered sustainability guidance to The Kenton.

Fiona Sanderson

Fiona’s passion for the theatre started at an early age when she attended Flavia Pickworth’s Kenton Theatre Children’s Group. This was followed by several years at the Arts Educational School in London studying dance and drama. She has a thorough knowledge of the arts, in a distinguished career in TV and film spanning some 25 years, working as a business leader, journalist and filmmaker. Fiona was elected a trustee in July 2023.

Tony Sanderson, Acting Chair and Treasurer

Tony is a chartered accountant with extensive business, commercial and not-for-profit experience. He qualified with a major accountancy firm and was finance director of several businesses.

He has been a consultant to a variety of clients most recently in the “not-for-profit” sector, is a trustee and ex-treasurer of the Acorn Theatre, a director of the Henley Golf Club and a former Governor and Chair of Finance for Henley College. A Henley resident for over 35 years, he knows what a small business with slender resources is up against and we are very lucky to have him on board.

Kathryn Siegel

A Henley local, with a strong arts background and who taught Film and Media Studies at Henley College. Kathryn also worked with the Open City Documentary Festival, the ICA, the Whitechapel Gallery, and the British Film Institute. A skilled grant writer she has secured several funding awards. Kathryn is very community focused and would like to help cultivate accessible arts offerings in Henley.

Suzanne Yeates

Suzanne has more than 25 years of experience in arts programming, currently serving as Festival Programme Director at The Henley Festival. She was a long-standing committee member and ultimately Chair of Trustees for the Henley Youth Festival. Suzanne has a background in education development through roles at the Richmond Theatre and the National Theatre.
